Well here is my spill and some knowledge on the whole electronic Vs. Acoustic drum set debate.

I have an electronic drum kit in my home studio, and would like to set up different tracks via Acoustica Mixcraft and have no idea how. I would like to set up a track for each pad: snare, kick, the three toms, hi hat, crash, and ride. The only thing I know to do is have the output go to the input on my mixer and have a single channel for it, but I would like to be able to go into further depth with mixing the drums. The kit is the Roland HD-1. It has a midi out, if that helps. I don't know much at all about midi, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I also have a Behringer 12 channel mixer, if necessary.
Thank you (:

Video helped by Uzair Khalid. I wanted to do something for a great artist that's becoming a quick inspiration to "music with meaning" as his motto. And also because no other drummer did a song by MarsRap. Yep that's his name, MarsRap. I called this a remix more than a cover, because of some added percussion (gong, cowbell, whistle, and xylophone). Just to discover around my electric drum set. Now I can use it for other purposes. However, if the volume of me on the drums is darn low, I'm truly sorry about that and I'll see if I can do something about it. I'm trying a new tactic to record covers/remixes. Please have constructive criticism, whether good or bad. AJ / XStyles6 MarsRap's youtube channel: www.youtube.com His website: www.MarsRaps.com

My parents want to get me digital/electronic drums, some little pad thing, no pedal at all. They worry about the noise, going on what they've heard. My friend HAS drums, and he's had them for years. He never had any problems with neighbors. My parents probably worry about me not knowing how to play them, but I play my friend's drums all the time, and he says I'm decent.
I'm dead set against electronic drums, my parents are dead set against acoustic drums. (This is for my Christmas, btw)

So, I have these Rock Band electronic drums. My computer recognizes it as a device. I can use it to play drums on a program. I just need to know how to open a program when I hit a certain pad. I want to open a total of 4 programs, so I would prefer that all the pads will open a different program. I would be willing to download a program (and have it run all the time). However, I would not like to pay for it. Thank you. I will really click the "best answer" button!

I try to be logical and use reason to convince them, but they just say "I'm not getting you a drum set. No way in heck am I getting you a drum set." They just repeat that when I try to be logical.

Can today's electronic drum sets sound like the ones from the 80's? Is there a certain way you can tune em or what? I want the snare to have like a csh sound when i hit it and all the other pads to have a bunch of funky noises when ya hit em. Or if you've ever listened to Dead Or Alive, an 80's band, and heard the drums in their music, thats what I want it to sound like. If anybody knows where I can buy one and knows exactly what the name of the drum set is, please let me know. Thanx a bunch.
